Parties, parties, parties... I’m trying to get out and about around town to find out what the lgbt community really loves to do. Y‘all need to keep on telling me so I can keep on letting the readers know!!! Check out some of the incredible Hotspots that I have been invited to lately. THE TRUCK STOP at Here Lounge on Friday nights in West Hollywood was a WOW-WOW! As my friends and I walked over to the place one night, we found out that there was a huge line of women waiting to get into this place. Thank you Mr. Security Man for not making me wait in the gigantic line to find out what all the hubbub was about. Not only is there a show on Logo that is filmed at Truck Stop (Gimme Sugar) it also is one of the Hotspots talked about in a lot of social circles. So here I am, checking out the venue. Throughout the evening, these wildly, sexy bartendresses jump up on the bar and start doing some pretty hot dancing. Ever seen the movie Coyote Ugly? Truck Stop has that type of vibe. If it’s your birthday, you‘ll have even more fun! I didn’t think my mouth could drop any further until I saw this incredibly sexy, long brown haired bartendress do a dance right over a birthday girl on top of the bar. Heck, when’s my birthday?!@#$ I’d like a little Coyote Ugly by her.. er, birthday dance. Truck Stop is located at: 696 North Robertson., L.A.

Got invited to a party put on by JOANI WEIR behind storefront property LIBERTY in Long Beach, California. This was definitely another big WOW-WOW! Y’all remember Joani now don’t you? She was one of the original outstanding gal promoters. Joani used to promote her Club Banshee events and they were always packed with wall to wall gorgeous people. I respect Joani in so many ways because she’s got style and integrity. And let me tell ya folks, she always knows how to put on a class-act event. Her party was in support of all the fantastic shops on 4th Street between Junipero and Cherry in Long Beach. The stores are absolutely adorable and very gay friendly. If you’re into hip, trendy and cool stuff, ya have to go and check out this area. It is a field day for musicians! It’s also a great place to purchase gifts for anyone with unique and great taste. I saw some extremely rad stuff and really felt like the street was a mini Melrose. It’s about time we have some Melrose in Long Beach. LA has plenty of it. So come on down and support these stores with your business!

I was invited to another fun mixer in Laguna Beach and got talking to a wonderful gal named Cathie Pipitone. Cathie told me all about a product called BOB’S PICKLE POPS and informed me that she and a couple other ladies are the PICKLE SISTERS selling the Pickle Pops. Okay follow me on this all you pickle-heads!! Being intrigued by pickles.. Not that pickle!! Sheesh! I know what you’re thinking so just stop it!! I researched the pops and the Pickle Sisters are actually doing a great service for children by offering them something other than sweets to snack on. They have been USDA accepted for schools and have become a healthy alternative for kids. Sodium can actually be good for kids hydration and physical activity. Vinegar also has some health benefits and may be a great alternative for diabetic children. The Pops are made from 100% squeezed pickle juice from concentrate. What’s really interesting is that children receiving chemotherapy often find that their taste buds are altered during the course of therapy. The taste of sugary stuff doesn’t agree with them, however, Pickle Pops do. Although I don’t typically write about products in Hotspots, I strongly feel children need alternative snacks than sugar. What a small world. I have discovered the most adorable and eclectic boutique. No, this isn’t Melrose, but Springdale and Warner in none other than Surf City USA, aka Huntington Beach.
My my…. gay friendly places are poppin’ up right here. And is it verrry cool!! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS is just that…Absolutely Fabulous! This place raaaaawks! Talk about bling and glitter, you have to see all the goodies to believe. It has spectacular clothing, dahling and gorgeous jewelry, home décor, barware, fine art and precious gift items galore!! If you’re looking for the perfect gift for your honey, this place has it! Located at 6026 Warner Ave in Huntington Beach (on Springdale just south of Warner) Another big WOW-WOW!! On the other side of the country, WOMENFEST is happening this month in Key West on September 2nd. Women, entertainment and dancing galore. Of course there are lots of things to do here even if you aren’t a partier. How about a little bull? Bull riding silly!!! There will also be art exhibits, film festivals, poetry and so much more. And to think all of this is happening in Key West!! My gosh ladies, how much more romantic does it get??? Ah, the sunsets.. The water excursions, the clothing-optional pool parties. What?? Did they say clothing-optional pool parties??? Hmm, wonder if I can hide in some bushes and spy a little.. Wait, this is the wrong crowd to be saying hiding in the bushes. Scratch that.. Oh my Gawd, scratch that sounds wrong too! Forget it! Just get over to the fricken party would ya???
